Car Charging Group, Inc., a nationwide provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging services, announced a new partnership with the Town of Surfside, a beautiful oceanfront community located in South Florida. Through this relationship, EV charging services are now provided at the Surfside Town Hall, which is behind the town’s Community Center and two blocks from the beach.
Incorporated in 1935, the Town of Surfside includes a tranquil and attractive residential neighborhood, multifamily condominium and apartment buildings, a traditional “home town” business district, as well as tourist facilities that welcome visitors year round. Surfside has earned a superb reputation as a family community and destination, offering a wide range of accommodations, resort facilities, shopping opportunities, and leisure activities. The town is also within close range of all of South Florida’s world-renowned attractions.
“As the largest independent owner and provider of public electric car charging services, CarCharging is dedicated to providing charging services wherever EV drivers work, live, and play,” said Michael D. Farkas, CEO of CarCharging. “By partnering with the Town of Surfside, we now provide EV drivers charging services all the way from Aventura to Miami Beach.”
“The focus of the Town of Surfside’s economic development plan is to encourage business retention, while maintaining and enhancing the characteristics that attracts residents and visitors,” said Daniel Dietch, Surfside’s Mayor. “We are confident that by implementing CarCharging’s EV charging services, the Town will support local EV drivers as well as draw new visitors and we are pleased to provide free parking for electric cars charging at this location.”
The EV charging services at the Town of Surfside utilize Level II EV charging stations, which provide 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly recharge an electric vehicle’s battery. To initiate use and payment at this location, EV drivers can make direct payment via credit card.
