Cincinnati Test Systems has released the Sentinel MH, an advanced multifunction leak test instrument for high-speed testing using differential pressure. The Sentinel MH is now available following extensive testing through thousands of field deployments with CTS customers worldwide. It provides high-resolution leak test measurements with fast, repeatable results in a compact, modular design. Manufacturers in markets such as automotive, powertrain, consumer goods, energy, consumer electronics, HVAC/R and medical can rely on this instrument for five types of differential pressure and vacuum decay leak tests. The instrument is also designed for testing parts/assemblies that must comply with the IP67 standard for ingress protection (dust tight, leak-free to withstand immersion in one meter of water for 30 minutes). ConFlow Power is pleased to confirm it has closed the acquisition of the BatteryWare technology from Apollo Research Labs in Gibraltar. The battery testing technology will be rebranded BatteryWare under a new wholly owned subsidiary of E-Getx Limited and will be exclusively used for the first in the field tests of the ConFlow Power Device to be conducted during the 1st quarter of 2020. BatteryWare is unique. It is the only affordable tech option on the market today that brings data directly from the battery or power source in real time and whilst under stress in everyday use. BatteryWare is weartech for large electrically powered devices. Originally designed for batteries, it is now being adapted to test for various factors unique to the ConFlow Power Device such as recharge rates and battery life, and speed and flow of power whilst in use. BatteryWare will record variants of an electric car that users apply whilst actually driving. Cementex, the safety tool specialists, has launched a YouTube Channel featuring demonstrations and educational videos to help customers understand how to use tools safely and productively. The first video is a demonstration of how to use the Cementex CPGI Glove Inflator as part of the OSHA required inspection of Class 0 and 00 insulating rubber gloves. The demo shows how easy-to-use design features like the non-slip, non-marring base make visual inspections a snap. More information.
PowerTech Water, a developer of cleantech water treatment technologies for lead-acid battery manufacturers, has received a $1.5 million Series A round of funding to accelerate the commercialization of its CapCo Capacitive Coagulation modules and systems. PowerTech Water develops and markets water treatment products that remove heavy metals from water using its patent-pending CapCo carbon electrode technology. CapCo actively attracts, immobilizes and filters metals with over 99% selectivity. It provides a simplified yet powerful solution that requires no chemicals and generates no toxic sludge by-products while lowering OpEx by up to 90 percent and reducing maintenance requirements. CapCo systems are being installed in North America by lead-acid battery manufacturers, as well as aerospace manufacturers and those in the automotive industry to address their heavy metal effluent problems. Shifted Energy has signed an agreement to incorporate its industry-leading grid-interactive water heaters (GIWH) into Hawaiian Electric Company’s emerging grid services market as part of a Grid Services Purchase Agreement led by Open Access Technology International, Inc. (OATI), the largest provider of software-as-a-service for grid operations in North America. Shifted Energy will install up to 2,400 GIWH systems across Oahu and Maui, with a specific focus on hard-to-reach customers including low- and moderate-income, apartment dwellers, and renter communities. Under a five-year contract beginning in 2020, the combined GIWH systems will function as a 2.5-megawatt virtual power plant (VPP), making it one of the largest competitively procured GIWH deployments in the world. The units will respond in aggregate to signals from Hawaiian Electric to deliver key ancillary services such as fast frequency response, grid capacity increase and decrease – providing valuable services to the grid that will reward participants while enabling greater use of renewable energy.
