Lithium Werks announces the largest North American based Cathode Powder and Electrode production facility
Lithium Werks, Inc. announces the largest North American based Cathode Powder and Electrode production facility for lithium batteries. The new facility will produce Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cathode powders, as well as the Lithium Werks' patented Nanophosphate powder, which was developed by MIT, known for its Power.Safety.Life. The facility will also produce finished electrodes for sale and use by lithium-ion battery cell manufacturers. The plant is projected to have a starting annual production capacity of 4 GWh of cathode powders as well as an equivalent amount of finished electrodes.
ESS Inc. Signs Contract for Long-duration Flow Battery System at Pennsylvania Industrial Recycling Facility
ESS Inc., a manufacturer of long-duration iron flow batteries for commercial and utility-scale energy storage applications, was selected by TerraSol Energies, Inc., a developer and manager of turnkey solar and storage solutions for commercial customers, to deliver an ESS Energy Warehouse flow battery at a commercial facility in Pennsylvania. The Energy Warehouse system will be integrated with solar PV as part of a microgrid to reduce electricity demand charges and provide safe, sustainable backup power to Sycamore International, an Information Technology Asset Disposition (ITAD) company with a focus on data security.
Silicone Sponge with Conductive Coating for ESD Protection
Stockwell Elastomerics announces the availability of a new brochure with sample packets demonstrating the performance properties of its closed cell silicone sponge products with T62 conductive coating for ESD protection. Test engineers, manufacturing engineers and technicians seeking a soft, resilient sponge gasket material that performs well in temperatures from -70°F to 300°F with ESD grounding properties benefit from these closed cell silicone sponge products. Until recently, closed cell silicone sponge was only available in a non-conductive condition, with electrical insulating properties that would hold a static charge and potentially damage sensitive electronics.
Tucson Electric Power and Shifted Energy to Evaluate Machine Learning-based Load Control through EPRI Incubatenergy Program
The Electric Power Research Institute's (EPRI) Incubatenergy Labs program announced that Shifted Energy was selected as one of 20 startup companies that will conduct accelerated demonstrations of their technologies with utilities and EPRI as part of Incubatenergy Labs' 2021 Cohort. The company will collaborate with Arizona utility Tucson Electric Power (TEP) to install intelligent load control switches on residential water heaters, leveraging machine learning to provide the utility with better load forecasting and load shaping.
DC/DC converters with conformal coating
The newest QUINT DC/DC converters from Phoenix Contact feature conformal coating for protection in harsh environments. The converters have been approved for use in ATEX, IECEx, and Class I, Division 2 locations, so they can be used in hazardous locations around the globe. The conformal coating protects against dust and conductive debris, corrosive gases, and humidity, and it prevents failures due to creepage currents and electromechanical corrosion. It also reduces the risk of failure due to vibration and thermal shock.
